TWO of Ireland's best-loved Commitments actresses have been reunited on the set of the highly anticipated EastEnder's spinoff, Redwater.

Irish starlets Angeline Ball and Maria Doyle Kennedy were spotted on location in Dalkey as shooting for the drama continues.

Both women enjoyed break-out success when they appeared in the Roddy Doyle favourite in 1991.

Redwater follows Albert Square favourites Kat and Alfie Moone who are searching for Kat's long-lost son.

It is the first time that filming for the show moved out of Waterford and tense scenes unfolded in the picturesque Coliemore Harbour this week as the camera rolled.

Jessie Wallace, who plays Kat, was forced to brave the Irish Sea for a dramatic scene, in which she can be seen covered in blood.

On top of filming in Irish locations a string of famous Irish faces have been added to the bill - including Lost's Fionnula Flanagan who was also spotted on set with Angeline and Maria.

Despite the warmer temperatures this week the show's coastal setting proved chilly for the trio who wrapped up well between scenes.

It has not yet been revealed what roles each of the Irish women will have.

However, previously Fionnula hinted that viewers are in for something of a rollercoaster with her character on the show.

"This is a fascinating character, full of secrets, deceit and manipulation," she said.

"It's a wonderful story which will keep you guessing forever and ever."

Dublin actor Stanley Townsend, dad of Stuart, was also in Dalkey this week for shooting.

The six-part series is not due to hit TV screens until 2017.
