Dancing With The Stars judge Julian Benson is delighted to be back on the show after recovering from a bout of pneumonia.

He was seen in only the first four episodes until he was struck down with illness and has been absent since the third elimination.

Julian, who also runs his own talent agency, was replaced by former Strictly Come Dancing star Darren Bennett.

Julian said he was thrilled to finally be fit enough to return to the judging panel.

"I am very excited to be getting back in the hot seat on Sunday and joining my fellow judges Brian [Redmond] and Loraine [Barry] - the dream team," he said.

"I was humbled by the wonderful, warm get well wishes and want to say a huge thank-you to everybody - they really helped me get better. It's great to feel fighting fit again and I look forward to the next four very exciting weeks as things really are heating up now."

The series has seen several dancers and celebrities struck down with injury and illness.

Denise McCormack's partner Ryan McShane was taken to hospital with a throat infection, while the Red Rock actress suffered a groin injury.

Fan favourite Des Cahill suffered with conjunctivitis and a sinus infection during week seven and was unable to rehearse for most of the week.

This week will see the six remaining contestants choose their own song to dance to by their favourite artists.

They will undoubtedly be hoping to select a song they are comfortable with so they can avoid finishing in the bottom two and facing the dreaded dance-off.

Katherine Lynch reckons she will look back on the show as the proudest achievement of her career.

"I'm getting glitz and glam and it's just a dream," she said.
