She's been flexing her presenting muscles on the airwaves in recent months, but Jennifer Maguire is still keeping her foot firmly in the door of RTÉ's TV department.

The Dubliner saw the latest season of her comedy hit Republic of Telly finish up in May but 34-year-old Jennifer is already planning her next project for the small screen.

The Herald has revealed that the Dubliner has been offered a TV pilot for a brand new production by bosses at the national broadcaster and it's expected that viewers will see the brunette take on a "different kind of show than what she has usually been involved with".

Earlier this year, she and Katherine Lynch starred in The Centre, a fly-on-the-wall style show which followed the daily grind at Bartolomew's Community Centre in the heart of Fieldstown, a grim local authority housing estate once voted the least desirable place to live in Ireland.

"It's still in development, but Jennifer is going to be filming a pilot in the coming months," a source told the Herald.

"She has been doing Republic of Telly for years now and while there's plenty more in store on that front, she's keen to start taking on other kinds of programmes."

Jennifer took on her post as a co-anchor on 2FM's breakfast show with Bernard O'Shea and Keith Walsh in February, replacing Hector O hEochagain in a major shake up at the station under Dan Healy.

Even though she's been adapting to life with early starts for the radio slot, Jennifer still managed to shoot a full series of RTE Two's Republic of Telly after coming off the air every day.

There were nine episodes in the latest season of the sketch series and no doubt she's making the most of having some well-deserved time off over the summer.

With more time on her hands, Jennifer will now turn her attention to the final preparations for her wedding in July.  She will walk down the aisle to marry her long-term partner Lau Zamparelli at Castle Leslie in Monaghan, in front of just 60 close friends and family over a long weekend, before jetting off to a romantic honeymoon in the Seychelles.
