Rumours have been circulating for months but now it's official - Gilmore Girls will return to the small screen.
Netflix is reviving the series with original stars Lauren Graham, Scott Patterson, Kelly Bishop, Alexis Bledel, Sean Gunn and Keiko Agena.
The streaming service has reported that the original series, which ran fro seven seasons from 2000, thus far has been a good performer.
The deal, signed with Warner Bros, will be written by series creator Amy Sherman Palladino and executive producer Daniel Palladino.
The series ran from 2000 to 2006 on the (now defunct) WB network before it moved to The CW in 2006 for its final season.
Amy Sherman Palladino had departed the show prior that move due to a dispute with Warner and has been vocal about not getting to end the show the way she had wanted.
Netflix is gearing up for another revival launching this month with Fuller House and has previously announced plans to reignite the runs of Arrested Development and Wet Hot American Summer.
