It turns out all the sex scenes in Sex and The City were based on real-life escapades
There was Krispy Kreme guy, the shower addict and who could forget Samantha's antics with Smith Jerrod?
Sex and The City's six-year run offered some of the most outlandish sex scenes on our screens and according to show star Cynthia Nixon, they were all true.
The 49-year-old told IMDB that the writers had a strict authenticity rule and wanted all of the encounters between Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte to be based on real life experiences.
“Even though crazy and outlandish things happened in Sex and the City, fantastical things seemingly, they had a rule in the writer’s room that they couldn’t put anything in an episode that hadn’t literally happened to someone in the writers’ room or someone that they knew firsthand.
"It couldn’t be, like, 'my father’s brother’s sister’s shoe repair guy heard once', so the outlandish physical, sexual things that happened, they really happened. They’re not just tall tales.”
