Rob Lipsett's big sister Roz says she believes he was "too much of a gentleman" to last the pace on bed-hopping reality show Love Island.

Irish viewers saw the YouTube fitness star (25) eliminated from the 3e programme last night, having only arrived three days previously.

"I was talking to him today and he said he just didn't connect with anyone," said Roz. "He connected a little bit with Tyla but she wasn't involved in the re-coupling so didn't have a choice when it came to picking one of the guys."

The top model said it was disappointing that Rob did not receive more air time, with fans of the lifestyle blogger complaining he was barely featured on the hit show.

I may be leaving #LoveIsland but your boy ain't leaving empty handed 😂😉 @shannenreillymcgrath

"He said that he talked loads and had a great time but didn't really get involved in the drama," said Roz. "He obviously had a really great time and made loads of new friends and got on so well in the house.

"But none of that was shown because it was all about the drama and the narrative of what was going on in the show. It was more about them having banter and talking about the relationships going on in the house and who liked who. I think all of us would have loved to have seen more of the Rob we know and love from the YouTube videos.

"He loves trying anything once. He's so good like that, so he said that he doesn't regret anything. He really enjoyed his time on the show."

Roz hit back at rumours that have surfaced that suggest the new additions to the Majorca villa are cast to target specific islanders.

"I'm not sure it's exactly that," she said. "I think that Rob is just not as pushy as the British guys, being Irish. I was watching Craig hitting on Camilla and I thought he was extremely direct, but Irish guys in general take a more understated approach.

"He's such a gentleman and, from being in a relationship for so long, he doesn't understand the work that needs to go into pursuing a girl."

Rob has said that he has "no regrets" about going on to the show and just did not have a genuine connection with any of the girls. Fellow contestant Shannen Reilly McGrath (23), from Dublin, was also eliminated from the show after spending only three days on the show.
