Popular housemate Hughie embraced Burrill and the pair shook hands as the winner was announced.

Burrill looked visibly shocked to have won after the crowd could be heard booing every time his name was called.

The body double, 45, scored the £70,000 prize after already winning £20,000 earlier in the series.

After leaving the house, Maughan told Willis: "I was myself and I just got through it."

He added: "You can't act 24 hours a day, I was completely myself. I was just in the house and it's only those moments when you go live that you remember you're in Big Brother.

"I've been on a journey and I've realised I don't have to let people get to me so easily, I don't have to get so loud."

Asked about his romantic relationship with fellow housemate Ryan Ruckledge, he said: "I've never met anyone like Ryan in my life. If we get together I would be really, really happy."

Burrill walked out shaking his head and told host Emma Willis: " I didn't think I would be here from day one. I'm not a man of many words.

"On the outside you have control of your own life but inside you tell us what to do and have no control and that's the frustrating part. I might have vented once or twice."

Speaking about his ex-partner and fellow housemate Charlie Doherty, with whom he clashed in the house, he said: "Hopefully we can be amicable, it's another chapter in our lives.

"In the situation we were in it was so tense, we struggled in the last few months."

Jackson Blyton came third after earlier telling Big Brother: " You don't know how much you've changed my life. You don't know how much you've sorted my head out. You don't know how much I've learned."

Questioned about his relationship with fellow housemate Georgina Leigh, he said: "I love her, in there a day is like a month or two you see the best or worst of people in such a short period of time.

"She was adorable to me and I became in awe of her very quickly.

"I made a lot of promises and I want to fulfil them."

Former BBC journalist Andy West, who became engaged to his partner during the series, came fourth in the live final while Jayne Connery and Evelyn Ellis were the first contestants to be evicted, coming sixth and fifth respectively and leaving the house together.
