Irish actress Dominique McElligott features in plum role on House of Cards season 4
Fans of House of Cards who are bingeing on the fourth season just hours after its arrival on Netflix will notice Irish actress Dominique McElligott among the new faces.
Dominique, best known in Ireland for her roles in RAW, Leap Year, and The Guard, has landed the plum role of the Republican frontrunner's wife and features in the latter half of the series.
The 29-year-old Rathfarnham native has been making waves in the US with roles in AMC series Hell on Wheels with Colm Meany and ABC's The Astronauts Wives Club last year.
Also new to the House of Cards fourth series are Neve Campbell, playing a political consultant, Ellen Burstyn playing Claire's formidable mother, and Cicely Tyson as a Texas Congressman.
Series regulars Kevin Spacey, Robin Wright, and Michael Kelly among others are also back.
The new series of the hit Netflix drama has garnered generally positive reviews with The Independent stating it's "the most ambitious season yet" and Independent.ie asserting it signals a "return to form".
