‘I’m not a liar’ – Jeremy McConnell addresses Mr Ireland accusations

Jeremy McConnell has defended himself against accusations he's a fake for being referred to as a 'former Mr Ireland'.
Before he entered the Celebrity Big Brother house his VT stated he had won the Irish competition, but the organizers have stated this is not the case.
Since his exit from the house last week, McConnell (23), who was Mr Dublin, addressed the issue.
"I came out of the Big Brother house and saw that I said I was Mr Ireland which is all lies," he told RSVP Magazine.
"There was a misquote in the paper years ago before I was even on MTV that said I was a former Mr Ireland.
"When the rumour was leaked I was going into the house. People quote headlines that are online to explain who you are, which is how it spread."
He added that he never told anyone on CBB that he was Mr Ireland.
"It was an inaccurate report years ago when I won Mr Dublin," he said.
"As cringe as it all is, I’m not a liar. I met Big Brother bosses a couple of times before all this nonsense based on my time on MTV and modelling. Nowhere was it said on the show that I was Mr Ireland so it has been blown out of the water."
Jeremy has also stirred the pot a little regarding his CBB love interest Stephanie Davis's boyfriend Sam Reece.
Fellow housemate Christopher Maloney gave an interview to OK! Online in which he alleges that Stephanie told him that Sam had cheated on her while they were on holiday together.
Jeremy retweeted the link to the interview although he didn't comment directly on what Christopher had said.
