'I'm all over it' - Ex Corrie star Ryan Thomas on prospect of Coronation Street Irish spin-off

Former Coronation Street hunk Ryan Thomas has said he'd love to film a spin-off show in Ireland with his actress pal Alison King.
The actor played Jason Grimshaw for 16 years before finally bowing out last June.
He said he'd have no problem taking a leaf out of EastEnders' book with their Irish-based mini-series Redwater starring Shane Richie and Jessie Wallace.
"If me and Ali could do a spin-off, I'm all over it," he said.
However, he told the Herald that he's more than happy to take a break from TV soaps, given his lengthy tenure with the hit ITV programme.
Sporting a dramatically different look during his visit to Dublin, he said he was happy to experiment with some new projects, but was keeping mum on reports he has signed up for Strictly Come Dancing.
"I've grown a beard, I'm living in Shoreditch. I've got some tattoos. I'm finding myself," he said.
"I'm just trying new things out and I'm in meetings constantly and am doing some work over Christmas, so I'm busy and I'm happy and I'm not looking back.
"I'm really enjoying myself and I couldn't be happier."
He also opened up on the pressures of being in a prime-time show for so long.
"It's the first time in my life that I've been free and I can do what I want a little bit more. It's a lot of pressure having that show [Corrie] on you every day, working for a company.
"Now, in a way, I work for myself and I don't have to answer to anyone and it's great.
"I came out of school and went into that show and it's been really good to me.
"I've had a great career out of it. I've provided for my child and my family and we've had fun with it, met some amazing people and I'm blessed."
He also took the opportunity to set the record straight about reports of a romance between him and Alison.
"We love denying it," he said.
"We went to the Lake District on holiday. We were there with all the kids, next thing we know, there's a photo of us in the paper and the next thing you know we're going out."
He and Alison were speaking at the launch of MaKe! Paelo cookies in Counter Culture this week.
