'I'm absolutely perfect' - Dragons' Den star Deborah Meaden
Dragons' Den veteran Deborah Meaden says she considers herself "completely perfect" - because she erases failure from her mind.
The 57-year-old entrepreneur, a regular on the hit BBC Two show, said she has to work hard to convince people she is not a "humourless, slightly barky individual".
She told The Times Magazine: "I think I'm absolutely perfect. Because if I'm not good at something I completely banish it from my mind. Completely. Like it never happened."
Meaden, who recently finished filming the latest series of the show alongside Dragons Peter Jones, Sarah Willingham, Nick Jenkins and Touker Suleyman, has become a multi-million-pound business guru after learning the ropes on the holiday camp her family owned as a child.
Her early duties included moving a caravan and chlorinating a swimming pool.
These days, her tasks involve challenging misconceptions about her.
She said: "Nearly everybody, when they first meet me, seems to have this sense of trepidation.
"People can be very serious with me, and expect me to be very businesslike all the time. So I have to help them get over that by showing them that I enjoy life.
"I point to my wrinkles and say: 'You don't get lines like that without laughing a lot.'"
