It's almost five years since Caroline Morahan made the bold decision to relocate to America to pursue her dream of becoming an actress.

The Dubliner was already a familiar face in Ireland from Off the Rails and Podge and Rodge, but feared she would remain a presenter.

"I wanted to just go into a room full of people that didn't know me and not have them look at you with perceived notions," she said.

But the 36-year-old said she would be tempted to come home if the right role came up.

Last year she auditioned for Love/Hate, but was unsuccessful.

"I got close to a delicious role on Vikings last year, and that would have been great as it would have meant several months in Ireland," she told RSVP magazine.

"I'd love to work on a quality Irish drama, and there are so many brilliant films coming out of Ireland."
