Rising star Doireann Garrihy has admitted she's open to replacing presenter Ruth O'Neill on Xpose.

The Dubliner (24), along with model Daniella Moyles, was recently named as a potential replacement for Ruth, who left the TV3 show after only a year.

While she hasn't given the idea much thought just yet, the Spin 1038 host wants to keep her options open.

"It's not something I've thought about at all. I wouldn't rule anything out," she said.

"At the moment I'm dipping my toe in the water with everything. I don't want to rule anything out. I don't want to pigeon-hole myself as known for just one thing."

The Trinity graduate, who is a sister of Fair City actress Aoibhin Garrihy, has developed a large online following in recent months thanks to her comedic impressions of Irish celebrities on Snapchat.

Currently serving as a regular presenter on The Six O'Clock Show, Doireann admitted she's starting to feel the pressure to look her absolute best on camera.

"Oh, yeah, I definitely feel it. You don't want to look back on yourself and go 'Oh, God'. I think anyone wants to look their best when they're on national TV," she said.

Doireann is taking comfort in the fact that men have been put under the microscope more often lately.

"There's a lot of pressure on lads to be built or have their hair the cool way, whatever that is," she said.

"They're more and more getting into the way they look. They're under pressure, everyone is freaking out."

Doireann currently has her hands full with a new project, developing a new show for RTE Player which she hopes will be out later this year.

"I'm working away on a comedy pilot, which is very exciting," she said.

"It's still early days. I think the plan is for it to be on the player for maybe September.

"I'm still coming up with ideas. It's just me for now, I might have someone else in it. It's exciting."

Doireann is currently in a relationship with 2fm presenter JJ Hartigan, who previously dated model Shauna Lindsay.

The couple have been dating for several months, but have mostly kept their relationship under wraps.

When asked if her partner was proud of all her recent success, the TV host remained tight-lipped and joked that she was the one who was proud.
