'I want a public apology asap' - Alannah Rose was not happy with how one aspect of her date was portrayed on First Dates Ireland
Two of the daters on First Dates Ireland have pointed out issues they have with the show.
Daryel and Allanah-Rose have both have taken issue with how aspects of their dates were portrayed on the hugely popular RTE reality programme.
Alannah-Rose featured in episode two when she had a first date with Dawn.
Unfortunately, they didn't exactly hit it off as Dawn rolled her eyes when asked if she had a favourite movie, tried to order from the kids' menu, and waxed lyrical about her hatred of chidlren.
Lies. We went to workmans with the other daters and dawn left after 10 minutes we haven't seen each other since. https://t.co/dkADl1FR7k— Alannah-Rose (@ARJOGK) April 29, 2016
At the end of their date it was clear they were not going to meet again. Alannah-Rose described it as "the worst date" and "brutal" and Dawn said Alannah-Rose was the "complete opposite to what I'm looking for".
"There was no spark, no romance, no common ground," added Alannah-Rose.
So, it was rather surprising when the post-date on screen synopsis read, "Dawn and Alannah-Rose partied until the early hours at The George. Alannah Roses says it was one of the best nights of her life."
Not only was it surprising for viewers, however, but Alannah-Rose was also taken aback by the statement.
She took to Twitter to say, "Lies. We went to workmans with the other daters and dawn left after 10 minutes we haven't seen each other since."
She also posted a screen grab of the synopsis and wrote, "This entire statement is untrue - I want a public apology asap @RTE2."
RTE amended the post-date synopsis to read, "While romance was out of the question Dawn and Alannah-Rose shared a taxi to a city centre bar and soon after went their separate ways."
The new synopsis appeared on the show's repeat.
RTE said, "The production company spoke with Alannah Rose and were happy to clarify and amend the post-date round up information at the end of the show."
RTE has not offered an explanation as to why the synopsis was incorrect on the first edit although during the episode Dawn makes a phone call in the toilets and says, "I could bring her to The George afterwards, who knows?".
Fellow first dater Daryel, who appeared in the first episode, also took umbrage with one of the aspects of his date, as it appeared on screen.

He had a blind date with Amy, who he said he did not want to see again, and he was criticised by many viewers for asking the post-date taxi to drop him off at Dublin nightspot Copper Face Jacks.
However, Daryel said he never actually went to Coppers.
In an interview with the Leinster Leader he said that the taxi turned around in the car park and he did a further two hours filming before heading out for a couple of drinks with a friend before heading home.
Of course, with programmes like First Dates there are always behind-the-scenes production factors to take into account.
Reading between the lines, it does not look like RTE set out to be misleading regarding Daryel's comment but simply had further filming snippets to complete on the day.
First Dates airs on RTE2 at 9pm on Thursdays.
