Good Morning Britain viewers are pleading for the return of presenter Piers Morgan after Jeremy Kyle filled in for him on Monday morning’s show.

Fans of the ITV breakfast programme were met with a surprise when the talk show host, who usually takes over the channel later in the day, appeared in the studio next to Kate Garraway.

As he spoke to guests with the fierce tones he reserves for cheating spouses and careless parents on The Jeremy Kyle Show, viewers took to Twitter to say they preferred to hear Morgan’s controversial comments.

Chris Chater posted: “Jeremy Kyle almost makes Piers seem likeable #GMB,” while Ann Burnip wrote: “Just when I thought it was safe to return to @GMB as Piers is away, Jeremy Kyle turns up.”

Other viewers said Kyle was a welcome change for the show’s usual line-up, with some calling for him to permanently join the team.

Kyle last featured on Good Morning Britain just over a year ago.
