George R.R. Martin's new series is set to be filmed in Ireland.

Nightflyers, the Game of Thrones creator's sci-fi novella from 1980, will be filmed in Limerick's Troy Studios.

A pilot and season one of the series is due to shoot over a sixteen week period from later this year, according to IFTN.

It is also reported that over 500 people are expected to work on the show.

Troy Studios, which spans over 350,000 square feet, will open its doors to an international production for the first time for the series.

This is Martin's second series that will be filmed on Irish soil, following the filming of Game of Thrones in Northern Ireland over the show's seven seasons.
