'Game of Thrones' actress Jane McGrath will play the lead in new TV3 soap 'Red Rock'.

Jane first came to prominence opposite Love/Hate's Killian Scott in Irish flick Black Ice and also starred in RTE two-parter Amber about a missing teenager.

Red Rock will air over 80 episodes in 2015. Set in a small fishing village the series is being produced by Element Pictures.

Speaking at the launch of TV3's autumn schedule, co-founder of Element Picutres Andrew Lowe said, "It's new territory for us.  But it is something we're very excited to get started."

Red Rock is the first foray into soap by TV3 and will start broadcasting from January, just as rival station UTV Ireland launches.

TV3 recently lost the rights to UK soaps Emmerdale and Coronation Street to UTV Ireland.

The new season will see the station's flagship magazine show 'Xpose' broadcast live from the HD studio daily.

Keith Barry will return with another series of mind bending series 'Brain Hacker'. Barry is heading over to the UK next week to film new ITV series 'You're Back in The Room' with Philip Schofield.

Lucy Kennedy will front a new dating series. "I want to become Ireland's answer to Cilla," she said.

Brian Dowling will present Saturday night quiz show 'Sitting on a Fortune'. "I love doing it because I can be myself and have fun," he said. "I think everyone will be tuning in."

'The Algorithm' will be fronted by 98FM host Ray Foley. "It's very different from 'Take Me Out' that's for sure," he laughed.
