'Fun and mischief' in Caroline Morahan's new show
Former RTE presenter Caroline Morahan will be returning to TV in a new series for TG4 called Fir Bolg.
She plays the younger wife of a character played by Sean McGinley in the six-part series.
Her character is certainly feisty, as one scene shows Morahan grabbing her other half by the crotch after she finds suspicious texts on his phone.
Caroline said it was an "interesting" scene to film, adding that it was an amazing show to be involved in. It will air this winter and feature stars such as Liam Cunningham, Brendan Grace and Stephen Rea.
"Our characters are married, so the story centres around a huge trad group that were massive globally, a huge sensation and then there was an acrimonious split," she said.
"Then, years later, one of the members of the original line-up dies and all of the band members come together for his funeral - and then it's all the fun and mischief that ensues."
Filmed in between Dublin and Galway, the bilingual show required her to speak English while some of the other characters are "in and out of Irish."
Morahan says that having a "cupla focal" is handy, especially if she wants to have a discreet conversation with her Irish husband Daithi in LA, where they live.
Caroline is back in Dublin for a few days to catch up with family and friends, and life in the US clearly agrees with the presenter and actress, who has a number of new projects coming up.
She told TV3's Seven O'Clock show that she finished another movie a few days ago, which she described as a "thriller/horror".
Morahan was also on RTE on Monday, in a short film called Lost and Found, alongside young actor Lee O'Donoghue.
He plays Caroline's son, who finds an innovative way of paying the bills.
