It's not even Halloween yet but already Coronation Street is teasing the details for its explosive Christmas storylines.
Earlier in the week it was revealed that Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) will make a sensational return to Weatherfield after a 13 year absence.
She was one of the most outspoken members of the soap's 'family from hell' so there's no doubt her arrival to the cobbles will stir some drama. And her timing is perfect as sister Leanne is currently pregnant with Steve McDonald's baby after a one-night stand.
But a Coronation Street spokesperson hinted that there's more to Toyah's return than meets the eye and the younger Battersby sister has returned with "new secrets".
"She has led an interesting life away from Weatherfield and she has secrets she has kept even from Leanne. Her arrival this Christmas looks set to put the cat amongst the Coronation Street pigeons."
Elsewhere, the Nazir family will be dealing with drama of their own during the festive season. "Sharif's secret affair is like a ricking time-bomb for the Nazirs and promises to cause an explosion that could rip the family apart," the soap's spokesperson told OK! magazine.
Zeedan and Rana's relationship is also in trouble and plenty of emotional scenes are promised - is heartbreak on the horizon?
Meanwhile, Caz is hell-bent on making Christmas miserable for Maria as her life threatens to spiral out of control. Bethany's secret crush is set to complicate the potential romance brewing between Sarah and Gary.
David Platt is never too far away from drama and his revenge plot explodes in a shocking stunt that threatens the lives of the soap's residents. Expect to see him play a big part in the some of the soap's most dramatic festive scenes.
By the time Christmas comes around the Barlow house will be full with the arrival of Peter, Daniel and Adam but they haven't come home for a peaceful festive get-together with the family. Trouble is brewing and all is not what it seems.
