Fair City's Carol's hopes for intimate wedding dashed by Kerri-Ann and Decco
Carrigstown is set for a double wedding next week, and Fair City fans have been promised plenty of drama.
Despite her hopes for an "intimate wedding", Carol - played by Aisling O'Neill - shares her big day with Kerri-Ann, played by Jenny Dixon.
Carol ties the knot with Robbie, while Kerri-Ann and Decco also say "I do".
The couples are blessed with something every bride yearns for on their big day - sunshine.
"We had two of the best days of the year to film and everyone really got into the spirit of it," Aisling said.
The actress has been widely praised by viewers for her performance in recent weeks after it emerged that Carol was sexually abused as a child. Asked if it was a happy- ever-after ending for Carol, Aisling said her character had "been through it all".
"She's had a lifetime of disappointment and heartache," she told the RTE Guide.
"But now she's with Robbie she seems very happy and settled.
"I think viewers would really like to see Carol hold on to this happiness and to have that happy-every-after with Robbie."
Over the coming weeks, Carol will be forced to confront her past - but Aisling is remaining tight-lipped about the next developments.
Her on-screen partner Karl Shiels, who plays Robbie, thinks the patter of tiny feet could well be on the cards.
Carol already has a son, Jack.
"I think at heart Robbie would like a family of his very own," said Karl.
"He loves Jack like a son, but maybe a sibling might add delight to the ever- expanding Quinn/Foley empire."
