David Schwimmer to make sitcom return
Former FRIENDS star David Schwimmer is to return to Channel 4 in a new sitcom in which he will play a American TV producer.
The British TV comedy will feature Schwimmer's character being brought in to save a failing show.
'Morning Has Broken' will be a six-part series and is expected to be a dark comedy, and it is one of Schwimmer's first roles since his tenure as Ross in FRIENDS over a decade ago.
The Commissioning editor for comedy at Channel 4, Rachel Springett, paid tribute to writer Julia Davis for drawing Schwimmer. "Julia is undoubtedly one of our most talented comedic writers and actresses and it’s a testament to the quality of her writing that she can attract such a big star".
Other new shows announced by the broadcaster include 'Wasted', a comedy "essentially about the stupid things you end up doing when there’s nothing to do".
Roisin Conaty’s sitcom GameFace will return for a six-part series. Greg Davies sitcom Man Down will return for a third time.
