One year on from their infamous encounter, Danny Dyer has apologised to Mary Berry for his inappropriate actions.
The incident in question happed at the 2014 TV Choice Awards, when the cookery queen was presenting Best Soap to the EastEnders cast.
The actor has long since admitted that he did inappropriately handle and kiss the Great British Bake Off host at the time.
“I didn’t get off with Mary. I respect her. I put my arms around her and everyone thinks I’m trying to tongue her ear hole.
“I was out of my nut. I don’t condone it. I don’t even remember winning the award that night. But I did see her recently and she ran away from me at 100 miles an hour. I’ve never seen an old girl move so fast," he said in an interview soon after.
The 38-year-old added that he "got carried away" during the incident, and had turned down several requests to appear on a celebrity version of the Great British Bake Off in the wake of the incident.
At this year's ceremony while accepting another accolade for Best Soap, Dyer took the opportunity to say his piece.
"I want to apologise to Mary for last year. It was embarrassing. I was out of order and it’ll never happen again. Sorry Mary, you’re a lovely lady.”
In a bid to make amends, the soap star 'bad boy' tried to give Mary a peck on the cheek but she quickly shuffled away to avoid any recurrence of last year.
