'Cushy RTE contracts ye lads are on' - Bressie responds to Eoghan McDermott about RTE's new Dancing With the Stars
Blizzards frontman Niall Breslin has hinted that he wouldn't say no to RTE’s Dancing With the Stars if there were “cushy contracts” available.
The former coach on The Voice of Ireland texted the show’s presenter Eoghan McDermott yesterday to say “No Voice, I need a job” after the show was axed.
RTE announced earlier this week that the Voice would be axed after five seasons.
Dancing With The Stars, which is due to hit TV screens in the new year, will serve as an Irish version of the hit franchise Strictly Come Dancing.
When McDermott suggested to Bressie that he should go on RTE’s new show Dancing With the Stars, Bressie joked that he’d like a “cushy contract”.
“I’ll give you dance lessons, you can be celeb contestant. We’ll train every day. You can win. This is my Everest,” McDermott said.
"One of that (sic) cushy rte contracts Ye lads are on ;)," Bressie replied.
McDermott retorted that he wasn't on any such contract: "I'm a free-lancer baby! No pension, security, paid leave for me! Just how I like it, seat of the pants!"
McDermott and Bressie became pals while working on The Voice of Ireland, and the RTE presenter was backstage supporting The Blizzards at Indiependance Festival last weekend.
