Red Rock ep 67 on TV3 Detective Garda Rory Walsh (played by Chris Newman) is the latest detective to join the rank. Rory is no stranger to Red Rock. He and Katie had a thing once and he returns to The Neptune cafe to speak with her. Theres clearly a spark between the two. New episode airs Wednesday 20:30 November 18th on TV3

Chris Newman will be familiar to fans of Love/Hate as the ill-fated brother of criminal Darren (Robert Sheean) who met his demise in the very first episode.

Now Chris is trading a life of crime for a life chasing criminals as he joins TV3's Red Rock as hot new detective Rory Walsh.

Soap fans will recognise Rory from a dalliance with Katie Kiely earlier this year although he did not divulge his involvement in the force.

When he turns up in a permanent position at the Garda station (donuts in hand), it's clear he still has his eye on Katie, while the female Gardaí are all batting their lashes in his direction.

Less impressed by his arrival, however, is Sean Holden.  Westlife, as he's known, is miffed to be knocked off his perch as the resident station hottie.

As well as Love/Hate, Chris has also featured in Ferocious Planet, Stardust, and A Date for Mad Mary as well as roles in Shooting for Socrates and Saving The Titanic.

He also recently appeared in an ad for Three.
