It's full steam ahead for what we are already predicting will be our new favourite show, as the casting for TV3's Gogglebox has begun.

The series is based on one of Channel 4’s most popular programmes and TV3 is hoping to replicate the success RTE has enjoyed with First Dates Ireland by adding its own unique twist to a popular format.

The show was announced by TV3 in 2014 but the station is only beginning casting for the reality series now.

A spokesperson revealed to the Herald that "Gogglebox has long been in our programming plans."

It was previously reported TV3 producers are looking for "genuine characters who don't even realise they're characters."

We can think of so many Irish people who would fit that description so well.
