"We just started filming last week and we're shooting between Galway and Dublin," she told the Herald.

"My character only speaks in English. It's a comedy series for TG4 and I just started last week.

"It's a bilingual show and I play Sean McGinley's wife, which is so exciting and I was really nervous meeting him," she continued.

"To me, Charlo Spencer from Family is the most enduring and terrifying character ever, but he's a lovely man, very sweet.

"We're having an absolute blast filming.

"There will also be cameos from Liam Cunningham, Brendan Grace and Stephen Rea," she added.

Filming will take place over the next few weeks but maintaining a long-distance relationship with her hubby, Daithi O Caoimh, is nothing new for the star.

She moved back home for three months to star in She Stoops to Conquer at the Abbey Theatre and only jetted back to the City of Angels in February.

The couple, who married in 2012, moved to LA in 2009 so Caroline (37) could pursue her dream of becoming an actress.

The brunette beauty has often said that her supportive husband is her rock as she tries to make it in the movie business.

"I probably couldn't do what I'm doing without his support, because he's always there on those dark days," she said.

"When I get really into something that I don't get the part for in the end, and I question if I should even bother doing this or why am I doing this, Daithi is always the voice of reason and the voice of support."

While they have been married for a few years now, babies are not on the cards just yet.

"Well, no is the answer," she said when asked recently about her baby plans.

"I don't know what's happening in the future, but, right now, it's not on the horizon. Right now, I'm very much about work," she added.

The former Off the Rails presenter recently admitted she might return to her former profession in the future.

"I would consider returning to it but I haven't come back to do stuff because I have to give the acting attention," she said.

"It was such an upheaval to move to LA so I have to commit to it.

"I will always continue to present and write and I'm currently working on a screenplay."
