'Bring him back!' - Viewers thrilled to see Simon Delaney flogging jewellery on Corrie last night
Dublin actor has joined the Coronation Street cast
Simon Delaney has landed on the Coronation Street cobbles in the role of Phil, a jewellery salesman, and Irish viewers are delighted to see him.
Delaney made his debut on Friday night and his character provided a little bit of light relief on the soap which has been weighed down by drama due to the grooming storyline in recent weeks.
He clearly charmed the pants off members of the cast too with Shayne Ward tweeting he had "a scream with this fella" and Catherine Tyldesley who plays Eva Price tweeting "Bloody love @SimonDelaneyesq - bring him back @itvcorrie"
Viewers were mightily impressed too.

He has had a series of high profile roles in recent months including The Conjuring 2 horror movie last year opposite Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson as well as roles on The Good Wife, The Fall, and Moone Boy.'Simon Delaney's not going anywhere despite Corrie role', says TV3
