Fresh from spending Christmas with his former wife Vogue Williams, the ex-Westlife star will be taking on the gruelling reality TV show.

Top model Williams previously took part in Bear Grylls Mission Survive, which she eventually won after battling the elements in the Costa Rican jungle.

McFadden said recently that he was going to spend this week "just chilling", but that he had "lots going on" in the New Year.

Channel 4 has now confirmed that singer McFadden is one of the big-name stars who has agreed to take to the piste for the programme.

Filmed in Austria, it will be broadcast live every night on Channel 4 and will see Brian battling it out against a number of other celebrities.

Also tipped to be taking part are Towie's James Argent and Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding as they take on a number of challenges including bob-sleigh and speed skating.

They will also have to tackle the dreaded ski jump as they fight it out to avoid elimination.
