He gained valuable TV experience as a coach on The Voice of Ireland, and now Bressie has landed himself another RTE programme.

The former Blizzards frontman has revealed that he's been lined-up to front a three-part documentary series about discovering a new Irish music act.

The show, entitled Teenage Kicks, will be broadcast in the autumn as part of RTE Two's new schedule.

"Each episode is 40 minutes, we shot it all in Limerick and it's basically about the search for a new act," the Mullingar native told the Herald.

"It is myself, one of the lads from Fight Like Apes and a member of The Rubberbandits, so it's following us and our work with musicians to put a band together, it was amazing."

While Bressie, whose real name is Niall Breslin, auditioned nearly 250 people in front of the cameras, numbers were whittled down to a select few.

The 33-year-old said that while he initially expected to put together a rock band, they ultimately came up with a rap act.

"There's a big rap scene down in Limerick, so that's how it ended up," he said.

And despite his input, Bressie insisted he'd never consider managing the group.

"I wouldn't manage anyone, that's the toughest gig in the industry and I'm not planning on going down that road," he said.

The ex rugby player, who is dating former Miss Universe Ireland Roz Purcell, will also be back on TV screens later this year for another series of The Voice of Ireland.

"It does get tough and it takes over your life but I've always said I wouldn't do it if I didn't enjoy it," he said.

"It's challenging, but good fun at the same time and the team of coaches get on very well, we've established good relationships."

Supporting Bressie is his Tipperary-born other half Roz, who he started dating two years ago.

While they rarely discuss their relationship, model Roz has spoken about moving in together and how Bressie is a disaster in the kitchen.
