Emmie Reek (27), who moved to Ireland in order to learn English, wowed the judging panel in her first ever performance on a stage with a "spectacular" rendition of Adele's One and Only.

She is the first drag queen to perform on The Voice of Ireland and only the second worldwide.

Emmie is engaged and had to decide whether her wedding would take precedent over the competition if she made it to the next round.

"I really want to get through, but if I get through, I'm going to have to make a really serious decision - whether I'm going to be walking through [sic] the aisle or to the stage at the battles," she said before taking to the stage.

After all four judges Una Foden, Rachel Stevens, Bressie and Kian Egan turned their chairs for her, a bidding war ensued to secure her on their team.

"Your voice is spectacular, it was a joy to listen to, and then to turn around and see you," Kian said.

She eventually went for Team Una, while Bressie said he was "raging" to have missed out.

"I'm so happy to have Emmie on my team - I think this is the whole beauty of the blinds, just to savour the moment of not knowing exactly what they like, but yes I'm going to turn for this person...in my head, visualise what they're going to look like," Una told the cameras after. "I turn around and there she is in her lovely black dress and gorgeous legs. So yeah, a winner."

When asked by presenter Eoghan McDermott whether or not she planned on staying in Ireland now, her fiancé said it was too good an opportunity to turn down.

"It's your dream, you have to follow your dream. A wedding we can always postpone," he said.
