Two rowing brothers from Skibbereen in Co Cork Gary and Paul O’Donovan lifted the spirits of the entire country last week when they won silver in Rio.

An RTE source told the Irish Daily Star that “anything is possible” as it looks to convince some of Ireland’s best known faces for the new dance show.

“Anything is possible. Producers look at all sorts of different people,” the source said.

“They will be definitely looking at people from the world of sport. You can’t rule anything out.”

“Irish celebrities are really excited about the format and a lot of people have been in touch.”

“Producers will be looking for judges who have experience in all areas of dance, who are characters but they won’t necessarily be well-known faces.”
