A 10-year-old Matthew Perry beat up Canadian PM Justin Trudeau
Friends star Matthew Perry has revealed he once beat up Canadian prime minster and international heartthrob Justin Trudeau.
The Canadian liberal leader is hailed as a superhero internationally and the internet has fallen for his charms and feminist declarations but it appears he has enemies at home.
It turns out fellow Canadian Matthew Perry has an awkward history with the Canadian PM.
He appeared on Jimmy Kimmel on Wednesday night and confessed to beating Trudeau up when he was 10-years-old.
As the former Friends star explained, the two were in the same school together, where Trudeau was "excelling in sport" and his talents drove Perry to "pure jealousy".
He admitted he wasn't proud of it and even though Trudeau's dad, Pierre Elliott, was Prime Minister of Canada back then, Perry got away with it.
I think he was excelling at a sport that we weren't as [good at], so it was pure jealousy, and, you know, we beat him up," the 47-year-old actor admitted.
"His dad was prime minister at the time but that wasn't the reason we beat him up. I think he was the only kid in school that we could beat up.
"I'm not bragging about this," he continued. "This is terrible. I was a stupid kid and I didn't want to beat him up. In fact, I think at some point I tried to turn it into love-play... But I think I was rather instrumental in him going to such great heights and becoming prime minister.
"I think he said, 'I'm going to rise above this and become Prime Minister'," he joked.
