Spencer Matthews is reportedly hoping to make another appearance on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!.

The 26-year-old star, most well known for his work on E4 reality show Made In Chelsea and his playboy behaviour, was the favourite to be crowned king of the jungle when he was unveiled as one of the celebrity contestants on last year's ITV programme, set in the Australian outback.

However, Spencer was removed from the show after just 24 hours when he admitted to taking steroids.

The dismissal was a huge blow for Spencer, who is now apparently hoping to redeem himself by returning to the jungle for this year's series.

"Spencer was cut up at being chucked out of the jungle and has worked hard all year to change his ways," a source told the Daily Mirror newspaper.

"He’s steered clear of big-money trashy telly like Celebrity Big Brother, and has kept in touch with the team at I’m A Celeb and wants to make it up to his family and fans."

According to the publication, the show are planning to offer Spencer a staggering £50,000 (€59,000) for a comeback on the series. They are hoping that he might follow in the footsteps of former Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison, who won last year's show. Vicky has since gone on to enjoy a hugely successful presenting career, including a regular stint on ITV's Loose Women. I'm A Celebrity bosses are apparently keen to land another reality star for this year's show, because they attract a younger viewer.

Spencer previously revealed he was incredibly disappointed in himself for taking steroids in a bid to bulk up ahead of his appearance on the show.

"I wasn’t thinking properly and made a mistake," he said. "The pills travelled with me to Australia and when I spoke of them I was asked to leave.

"I was just absolutely devastated."
