Oops! Eamonn Holmes cut off during emotional goodbye speech to Sky News
Eamonn Holmes was cut off prematurely as he bid farewell to Sky News viewers during his final broadcast for Sunrise.
The Belfast broadcaster ended his 11-year stint as the host of Sky News' flagship breakfast programme on Thursday morning.
Colleagues paid tribute to the much-loved presenter's time on the show with a compilation of his highlights. But when the time came for Eamonn to say goodbye, he was cut off by rolling credits just as he started to make a speech.
"It has been 11 years, thank you very much for putting up with me for all that time,” he told viewers.
"In that 11 years I’ve had to report on some awful news but I’ve also had to report on some really fantastic news, some really uplifting news and we should have more of that.
"But the main thing is it’s not important who presents the news, the news is the important thing, keep on watching it, keep on doing it, Sunrise and the news continues after the break in the morning."
He he departs Sky News, Eamonn has apparently no plans to say goodbye to ITV'S Good Morning show, which he regularly co-presents alongside his wife Ruth Langsford, with whom he also hosts a Channel 5 series called How the Other Half Lives.
