Massive 1.36m people tune in to Late Late Toy Show making it most watched programme of 2015

A MASSIVE audience of 1.36m people tuned in to Friday’s Late Late Toy Show, making it the most watched programme on Irish TV this year.
Almost two million people tuned in at some point during the broadcast.
73pc of people watching TV on Friday night were glued to the annual toy-filled extravaganza.
91,000 tweets were sent during the broadcast – making it a social media hit as well.
It now looks like it will be the most watched programme of 2015 – the only possible competition coming from the Mrs Brown Christmas special in three weeks.
Glen Killane, Managing Director, RTÉ Television said: “The Late Late Toy Show is a special programme that has become an annual event in nearly every Irish home, bringing families and the nation together. Almost 90pc of all children watching television in Ireland on the night were tuned in to The Late Late Toy Show as were nearly three quarters of the total available audience.
“That level of engagement is unique among broadcasters in Europe and proves that RTÉ, and RTÉ One in particular, delivers programming that brings the nation together”.
The Late Late Toy Show producer Katherine Drohan said: “I’ve been blown away by the amazing response to Friday night’s Toy Show. As a producer you’re always looking to find those special moments and we were lucky enough to have a programme full of them.
“The essence of the Toy Show is the magic created by the children, and this year they really delivered. As usual Ryan embraced the madness and gave us an opening number that will go down in Toy Show history.
