Keith Barry claims he was hired by Irish politicians to help them 'hypnotise' voters
Irish mentalist Keith Barry has claimed Irish politicians have hired him to teach them how to 'hypnotise' constituents.
Barry, who is currently in the US, revealed that the techniques of 'conversational hypnotism' have been employed by politicians hoping to influence members of the electorate to vote in their favour.
"There's a lot of different styles of hypnosis," he told the Irish Daily Mail.
"There's conversational hypnosis which even though we joke about it, politicians use conversational hypnosis.
"I've been hired back at home in Ireland by certain politicians to assist them in specific language patterns that will just tip people over into their, you know, into their zone."

Barry (39) did not reveal which politicians availed of his advice and added that it is a technique with limited influence.
"It wouldn't work on 100 people but then it might work on just one person," he said.
One of the problems Irish people may have in influencing others, is that we "all talk too fast", he added.

"I need to slow down when I'm hypnotising people so that they can definitely hear my instructions - and hear my commands on a subconscious level".
The newspaper reports that spokespeople for Fianna Fail, Fine Gael, Labour and Sinn Fein said they were not aware of anyone in their parties hiring Keith Barry in this capacity.
Keith Barry recently appeared on You're Back in the Room on TV3 and advised on Now You See Me and Now You See Me 2 starring Woody Harrelson.
