Ed Balls has revealed that the other contestants on Strictly Come Dancing don't invite him on their nights out.
The British politician said in an interview with Nick Grimshaw on BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show that the younger contestants of the show, such as Laura Whitmore and Daisy Lowe, head out on Saturday nights after the show is over, but he is yet to be invited.
"You don't finish [filming] until 11 o'clock at night, and luckily there's a tent with a bar so you can finally chill out."
"The difference is that the contestants my age then go home and go to bed, and the young celebrities go down to Camden or Central London and I think go through to the morning," he continued.
"Really sadly, they've not invited me. I don't know what it is. I mean, there's like this awkward moment about midnight and people sort of slip out and I sort of stand there and nobody really says goodbye because they all want to leave without people noticing. It's really tragic."
However, Mr Balls (49) is remaining hopeful that he'll get the chance to hit the town with the other contestants.
"They keep promising it but so far they've not sealed the deal."
"Maybe tomorrow night's the night?" he said.
"I wouldn't mind doing it once. I'm going to talk to them. Stop excluding me!"
