'Ireland's version of One Born Every Minute' – best reactions to Big Week on the Farm
Tuesday night's live Big Week on the Farm offered a failed world record attempt, dissected cow stomachs, and some adorable Border Collie puppies.
Taz Smith (37), a father of four living in Fermanagh attempted to eat more than eight cooked, but cold, sausages in a minute.
Watched by Guinness World Records adjudicator Jack Brockbank, Taz made a valiant attempt but only managed to swallow six.
Viewers were distracted from the disappointment with some cute Border Collie puppies in a segment called The Secret Life of the Sheepdog.
Also rather distracting was the enthusiastic dissection of a cow's stomach.
Oh, and the snail orgy of course.
Scroll down for some of the best reactions to the programme, which is back again tonight for another record breaking attempt (the world tractor reverse record) and more.
The series comes live from the Shalvey dairy farm in Cootehill, Co Cavan for five successive nights on RTE One and is hosted by Aine Lawlor and Ella mcSweeney.
The ads during #bigweekonthefarm remind me of the old radio ads for liver fluke and worms always on at teatime to put you off your tae!— DeiseDispatches (@CatherineRotteM) April 4, 2017
A calf born, a rooster stand off, hen sex, a hen's egg fertilising into a chick, snail sex and a sausage record. Love it! #bigweekonthefarm— Vincent Murphy (@MurphyVincent) April 3, 2017
#onthefarm It would be logical and realistic to have a Big Week at the slaughterhouse, and then a Big Vegan Week in this century, maybe?— Ban Blood Sports (@banbloodsports) April 4, 2017
