ACTING Garda Commissioner Noirin O'Sullivan has revealed that she is a fan of RTE's hit drama 'Love/Hate' and the way that it portrays the force.

She said that the show highlights the multiple facets of society that exist within the gardai and those who the force interact with.

"I think that we represent all of the various facets of life and we have people from all types of backgrounds," she said.

"I think that 'Love/Hate' actually shows that there is a very diverse group of people in An Garda Siochana and also the people that An Garda Siochana interacts with."

The acting commissioner was asked about Garda Kieran O'Reilly whose role as a detective in the show has caused controversy. She said it is something they would have to look at if there is a conflict of interest.

When asked if she liked the show, the commissioner jokingly asked: "Can I get a role in it?

"I think it is a very good show. I think it is very good for Irish television production and the Irish television industry.".

However, she would not reveal who her favourite character in the show was.

"That's a secret," she joked.
