Four 'Game of Thrones' episodes leaked sparking spoiler alert News Desk

Game of Thrones fans fearing spoilers watch out, the first four episodes of season five have been leaked ahead of tonight’s premiere.

The four episodes of the highly-anticipated fifth season started making their way around several popular Torrent sites on Saturday night.

The pirate versions of the unseen episodes are believed to have been ripped from press and editorial DVDs as they are in 480p, the equivalent to the quality of standard TV, and have a blurred digital watermark is blurred.

The show itself is normally shown in 720p or 1080p through HBO and Sky Atlantic.

There were fears that the hit drama, based on George RR Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire novel series, would be leaked as, according to producers, the cast is “looping all over the world, sending files back and forth”.

The show is no stranger to pirating though, it is among the most popular illegally downloaded shows in the world.

In fact, it was named the ‘most pirated show in the world’ this year, when it was illegally downloaded more than seven million times in the run up to the season five premiere. 

The first episode of Game of Thrones season five airs on tonight in the US on HBO, while Irish fans can see it on Sky Atlantic at 9pm tomorrow, Monday April 13.
