'Empire' star Terrence Howard chooses unusual name for new baby boy
Empire star Terrence Howard and his wife Mira have had a son.
The 46-year-old actor’s spouse gave birth four weeks ago.
Terrence revealed the happy news to Access Hollywood and added that the pair have chosen the name Qirin Love for their little boy.
"He's beautiful and strong and a whirlwind and my wife is so happy," Terrence told the outlet.
The pair chose the unusual moniker for their tot because it comes from the qilin – a mythical Chinese creature said to appear at times of serenity.
Terrence added in the interview that he and Mira are doing their best to split the baby duties. However, he admits there are some aspects that Mira has the advantage on.
"She has to be up with him all throughout the day,” he said about Mira’s breastfeeding. “I wasn't born with boobs, I've started growing some recently.”
Terrence and Miranda married in late 2013, after dating for around a month according to reports.
The nuptials came just two months after Terrence’s second wife Michelle Ghent obtained a permanent restraining order against him in September alleging he abused her.
Terrence previously married and divorced his first wife Lori McCommas twice before permanently ending their 20-year relationship in 2007.
The pair are parents to children Aubrey, 21, Hunter, 19, and Heaven, 17, together.
Terrence is currently working on television series Wayward Pines. He is then scheduled to start filming new movie The Best Man Wedding alongside Nia Long and Taye Diggs.
