Daniel and Majella O’Donnell have had a busy year moving from one B&B to another but the couple is getting to swap all that for four months in paradise.

The crooning pair, whose UTV series Daniel and Majella’s B&B Roadtrip proved a massive success this year, will embark on a four-month round-the-world cruise.

This year also saw Daniel take part in Strictly Come Dancing but he revealed that the cruise was something the couple decided to do during Majella’s treatment for cancer in 2013.

“Next week Majella and I embark on our round the world cruise,” Daniel told his fans last night.

“This is something we decided to do when Majella was having her treatment. After such a busy year we are both so looking forward to spending some time together with nothing to do.”

Earlier this month the couple celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary in Tenerife.

The Donegal singer revealed that he and Majella had a lovely Christmas which was made more special by the grandchild the couple welcomed this year.

“We had the nicest time. It really is fantastic having a child in the house at Christmas time. Olivia really is the light of our lives,” he said.

A luxury cruise was probably the best means of transport for the celebrity couple, as the pair racked up a number of penalty points throughout the filming of their UTV series.

"We got two speeding tickets," Daniel told Highland Radio this month.

"I think one of them was when we were driving in Carndonagh in Donegal and I'm not sure where the other one was.

"I certainly wouldn't be in favour of anyone speeding and I have to say that I think we were doing 70 in a 60 zone, it was just one of those things. I can't even remember if we were detected by a speed van or what it was but we were caught twice."
