Amy Schumer dedicates first Emmy win her sister, thanks literally everyone who helped her along the way
Comedienne Amy Schumer was uncharacteristically stuck for her words while accepting her first Emmy.
The 34-year-old, who has essentially ruled 2015, won the statue for Best Variety Sketch Series for Inside Amy Schumer and thanked pretty much everyone who helped her on the path to stardom.
While she made sure to give a shoutout to the makeup artist who did her smokey eye, she was sure to thank her sister Kim, saying :"I want to thank my sister Kim, who's the only reason I'm alive and breathing."
"We care so much about this show,” she said on stage.
"This show really fights for what we believe in."
Earlier in the night, she said that hosting the awards is a "thankless" job after she hosted the MTV Movie Awards earlier this year.
"I don't think you get paid a lot, and it seems kind of thankless," Amy told ET Online of hosting the Emmys. "You get rewarded with getting to host again."
Amy became best friends with Academy Award-winning Silver Linings Playbook actress Jennifer Lawrence after they enjoyed a vacation together this summer.
And Amy has confirmed she speaks with Jennifer about mundane subjects most of the time.
“We were just gossiping and texting all day," she noted. "We don't talk about fashion much. We were just talking sh*t about some guys."
Amy has previously gushed about her strong relationship with Jennifer.
