Heidi Klum's latest Project Runway ad has been banned from Los Angeles billboards.

The ad features several nude models - albeit, strategically posed - crawling at the host's feet while she is in costume in a Marie Antoinette-style ensemble. It is being used to promote the 12th series of the hit show. While each of the male and female models are entirely nude, they have all been posed on their side and none of them are displaying any intimate body parts.

The city hasn't yet given a full explanation as to why they decided to bar the ad from billboards, but a representative explained that they maintain their right to protect "obscene matters" from being advertised in public.

Officials from New York have decided to continue using the image to promote the programme.

Klum posted a shot of the campaign, with a tongue-in-cheek call to arms for aspiring designers. "Designers! We need clothing for these people! Fast! Season 12 starts July 18th on Lifetime," she wrote on her Twitter account.
