Actress, writer and comedian Sharon Horgan is one of Ireland's funniest women and it appears that her daughter is picking up on her mum's charms.
Catastophe was nominated for an Emmy in the Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series category and its co-writers, Sharon Horgan and Rob Delaney were the worthy underdogs.
The show faced stiff competition in a writing category that also included Veep, Silicon Valley and the eventual winner, Master of None.
While Horgan and Delaney lost out to Aziz Ansari and his writing partner Alan Young with their Netflix comedy, the comedians received some sort of comfort and commiseration from Horgan's daughter.
The Louth actress shared a screenshot of a text her daughter had sent her after the ceremony, in which she praised her mum while managing to sneak in a clever little pun to make light of the situation.
"Hi mummy, dad just told me that you didn't win! I'm so sad for you and I can't believe u got beaten by a tv show about nuns! Master of Nuns what a load of rubbish."
The pair didn't seem too cut up about missing out and took the loss in their stride as Horgan shared a photo of them on Instagram, captioned "big losers".
