R-Patz slams Twilight fans, "What do they do all day?"
The actor has made no secret of his desire to distance himself from the franchise, but today, he spoke about the "intense" fans he meets.
And he even hit back at the moniker that made him a household name - from Robert Pattinson to R-Patz.
In an interview with the German edition of Interview Magazine, the British actor spoke about his Twilight fanbase and his shock that many of them are not cliched teenage girls.
"What's really weird about Twilight fans is that they're not really teenagers," he explains.
"Most of them are older. Twilight has its own fan culture that existed from day one. And in an intense way that didn't exist before."
"Sometimes I ask myself what these masses of people do the whole day," he added.
"They sit in front of their computers and comment on anything having even remotely to do with Twilight."
During the height of his fame as vampire Edward Cullen, he and ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart were regularly referred to as 'R-Patz' and 'K-Stew' and the Cosmopolis star explained that he knows the person who first gave him the nickname, but won't reveal their identity.
"I'd like to strangle the guy who came up with it!" he said. He would only describe the individual as "some celebrity blogger".
Pattinson was recently linked to actress Riley Keough, Elvis' granddaughter, but she quickly ended their relationship and became engaged to her ex-boyfriend Alex Pettyfer.
