Sacre bleu! Michelin star chef Raymond Blanc has revealed the alleged 'winner' of the Great British Bake Off before tomorrow night's series finale.
Fans of the hit baking show, which has an Irish version airing on TV3, have since branded him an 'idiot' for the slip and claimed he's 'ruined' the show for them.
He wrote on his Twitter account: “The great British Bake Off. Not much skills, female tears, And a winner so thin who makes me doubt of her love for great cooking, baking.”
He's believed to be alluding to former model Tandoh, one of three women left on the programme.
Judge Paul Hollywood hit back at Blanc's alleged insider knowledge with a sarcastic Twitter response, but it's believed Blanc hasn't been given early access to the winner.
Former contestants reacted angrily to his comments claiming he had “ruined” the show with the Twitter message, which also prompted a reply from judge Paul Hollywood.
Soon after the onslaught began, Blanc apologised and blamed the language barrier for his faux pas.
"Ok, sorry guys, I was a grumpy Frenchman this morning. I don't know who has won #GBBO, but can't wait to find out..."
"@PaulHollywood It seems my tweet was not written how it was meant to. Frenchman writing English! I'm sorry I do not know who the winner is," he added to Paul Hollywood directly.
"Apologies if I upset people this morning. I would like to congratulate you on a show. Best Rb xx"
The final episode of the show was filmed in June but all contestants have signed a non-disclosure agreement.
