RTE Radio 1 listeners can expect their usual weekend fix of interviews, human interest items and current affairs.

But all this will be punctuated by the hilariously candid Dubliner this weekend.

The popular actor will take time out of the Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Movie promotional tour to present  Marian’s show between 11am and 1pm.

The BAFTA award winner has a keen interest in political and social issues and he is no novice when it comes to radio.

The 58-year-old has previously stood in for Joe Duffy as a presenter on RTE Liveline’s Funny Friday programme.

Brendan said, “Of course, I won’t be able to fill Marian Finucane’s seat. However, if I can sit on the edge and be a fraction of what she is, and what she does, I will be happy."

"I’m looking forward to presenting the show this weekend and hope the listeners enjoy the programme as much as I know I will.”

Mrs Browns Boys D’Movie premiered this week to mixed reviews.

However, the 5’3” star maintains he's paying no attention to the critics.

"I only care what the audience think. I couldn't give a flying feck about the critics."
