Seven-year-old Lauren, whose premature sister was born five weeks early, has written a letter outlining her wish for the newborn.

Her sister has been in Holles Street Hospital since her birth but Lauren is desperate for her to come home, for one particular reason: to watch the Toy Show with her this Friday.

The girls' parents, Alan and Annie, shared Lauren's prayer with the Ryan Tubridy Show on RTE Radio One.

Ryan read out the adorable letter live on air.

It read: "Dear God, Can I ask that you watch over my newborn baby sister Holly so that she will start taking her bottle so that she will be home in time for the Late Late Toy Show. Amen."

After Ryan read out the letter, he paid a visit to Holles Street to meet baby Holly, along with parents Alan and Annie.
