And it seems Colm Hayes (below) is getting his wish after revealing that he is taking over from John Clarke on Ireland's Biggest Jukebox with digital station RTE Gold.

The Santry native is looking forward to the new challenge and will present the greatest hits programme on top of his current weekend breakfast show with 2fm.

"John (Clarke) is gone across to Radio Nova, so I've been asked to take over Ireland's Biggest Jukebox," Colm told the Herald.

"I will work on both shows and I'm really looking forward to it."

Colm left his afternoon drive-time slot on 2fm in October and was replaced by host Eoghan McDermott.

"2fm is changing a lot at the moment and it's becoming a much younger station during the week," he said at the time.
